H.O.K. architects met the challenge successfully creating a unique plaza by bridging the architecture of the existing library and City Hall with the new Police and Fire facility. By blending a palette of natural gray concrete, recycled glass Lithocrete, sea shells, smooth and textured cast-in-place walls and etched walking surfaces with unique landscape plant materials, a seamless integration between the old and new was established.

From the cast-in-place Lithocrete stage to the glass and shell wave walls to radial shaped benches to chess tables and the unique water features concrete was selected as the material medium to create this user-friendly civic plaza.
